This just serves to further encourage people using these “invites” to invite people who they trust, and people who will likely not cause issues.
To me this just seems like a more efficient way to do application waves, since they will have to review far less “bad” people’s apps, and generally less “bad” people will get into the cheat, both due to needing a friend with access to it, and the trust level that is needed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they only do these types of apps from now on, it cuts down their workload with reviewing apps, I don’t have the stats but I imagine the amount of “good” people that will miss out on these applications due to them being invite-based is just minimal, compared to the workload reduction

A better idea would be causing an “invite ban” for people who invited a guy who got banned. So they can’t invite anyone again.
