I know people are getting cooldowns now. But can you still get perma ban? If so after how many cooldowns? Or is it all random?

So you can’t get permanent vacban?
There is no perma ban on vac flag you have to play more games with out vac to reset cooldown days status.
You can’t get permanent VAC bans if your gameplay gets flagged as irregular.
Irregular gameplay is anything that is deemed to be unachievable during normal gameplay without cheats. Hitting too many wallbang headshots or just unrealistic shots in general, using anti-aim or other obvious features will flag you.
You can only get permanent VAC ban if the cheat is detected or you use a detected feature like No Spread on MM or Premier (since they patched No Spread some time ago.)
